How the App Works & Data Processing

Smart Image Tools is designed with a "privacy-first" approach. The core features of the app (such as Image Compression, Format Conversion, Cropping, Resizing, EXIF Removal, Watermarking, and Collage Making) operate 100% offline and locally on your device.

When using these core tools, your images are never uploaded to any remote servers, and we do not have access to your personal photos or files.

AI Features & Internet Usage

Certain advanced processing tools (such as AI Background Removal, AI Upscaling, and Image Enhancement) require cloud processing to function. When you explicitly choose to use these specific AI tools:

• An active internet connection is required.
• The selected image is securely transmitted to our processing servers.
• The image is processed solely for the purpose of fulfilling your request (e.g., removing the background).
• Your images are never permanently stored, shared, or used to train AI models. They are deleted from the processing servers immediately after the edited image is returned to your device.

Permissions Explained

To provide our services, the app requests the following device permissions:

• Storage / Media Access: Required to select images from your gallery for editing, and to save the processed images back to your device. We only access the files you explicitly select within the app.
• Internet Access: Required only if you choose to use the advanced AI cloud features, or to display non-personalized advertisements (if applicable in the free version).

Information Collection

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or log in to use the app.

Advertising

The free version of the app may display advertisements. Our advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may collect non-personal data (such as advertising IDs) to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.

Data Security

We take data security seriously. By processing the vast majority of operations locally on your device, we minimize data transmission risks. Any data transmitted for cloud processing is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
